21,000 new housing units are needed every year for the next 10 years
In Malawi, approximately 21,000 new housing units are needed every year for the next 10 years to meet the housing demand. This, far much exceeds the current housing supply.
Thus, most people especially in urban settings live in inhumane and degrading conditions in transient dilapidated structures that predispose them to harsh elements of weather and ill-health.
While we are awake to the realities of shrinking fiscal space in the country, we continue our efforts to contribute to the much needed housing supply that the country is experiencing.
We are thrilled to report progress on our Likuni Housing Project which is graciously supported by DESWOS e. V.
